Klub VW Fest 2004 |
||
| Klub VW Fest has been a part of the Queensland VW Calendar for many years now, however this year the decision was made to move the event from its usual locations of Toowoomba to the Brisbane bayside suburb of Cleveland. This year the event was run by the Bayside chapter of Klub VW. They couldn't have asked for better weather and their choice of a large grassy park, right on the water made it a relaxing and enjoyable day for all participants. According to the organisers, there was almost 100 cars in atttendance, and a large number of trophy classes were decided by public voting. The swap meet was quite large and saw may bargains being snapped up (must be time I cleaned out my shed and sold off some stuff that I don't need - I can no longer find anything to buy at swaps - must have at least a couple of everything!). There were also a small number of trade stands for those requiring new good or services for their cars. The trophy presentation was held at around 1pm and I was lucky enough to win the 'most personality' award with my '63 bug (which I am told is the equivelent to the dog-of-the-day trohpy at other shows). Congratulations to all the organisers for putting on another fine show, and to all the participants, particularly the other trophy winners, for coming along and making this day a success. Looking forward to next years event.....
